Among patients with a few male-dominated, but chronic viral hepatitis in women is not uncommon. The disease lasts from 1 to 20 years or more and is characterized by extreme variability in clinical course, changing the periods of remission that may last for several years and end with recovery, and periods of reactivation with the outcome of liver cirrhosis.
It is important to note that the remission of chronic hepatitis B seroconversion and possible disappearance from the blood markers of B. Thus, the languid, latent or subclinical course of chronic viral hepatitis in some patients can be quite insidious.
In particular, the persistent clinical remission, many years later can turn into a stage of reactivation, and sometimes the type of jaundice necrotizing hepatitis with sudden rapid deterioration in liver function with hepatic encephalopathy or with the rapid development of liver cirrhosis. Patients usually claim that they previously never tolerated "jaundice". They seem to have taken place without icteric, latent form of acute viral hepatitis. In asymptomatic carriers of viral infection the acute phase of infection often begins with a sharp activation of blood aminotransferase (10-20 times higher than normal) without any other subjective or objective symptoms with subsequent reduction in activity to normal levels. |
